Chemical Weapons Destruction
The Chemical Weapons Destruction Support Office (CWDSO) serves as the Defense Threat Reduction Agency liaison to the Russian Munitions Agency on CWD-related subjects, and provides CWD expertise.
The CWDSO is responsible to the CTR Chemical Weapons Destruction Product Manager for management of CTR Contracts to implement new CW assistance Projects. Current CW Projects include the Shchuch'ye Chemical Weapons Destruction Facility, demilitarization activities at Volgograd and Novocheboksarsk, and enhancement security at Schhuch'ye and Kizner. The CWDSO interacts with the Russian Munitions Agency as required on project planning and implementation issues.
