American Specialist Helps Russian Experts for National Exam
English Language Specialist Patricia Dunkel had an intense day-long in-service course with the Russian team of item writers for the Unified National Exam (EGE) at Lomonosov Moscow State University on October 3rd. All item writers for the English portion of the high stakes exam had become self-trained experts and they jumped at the opportunity to participate in a small-group consultation that specifically addressed issues with the EGE. Questions and answers continued well after the session was scheduled to come to a close. Both item writers and the Specialist believe that the assignments for next year’s exam will be much better, which is crucial for all Russian students since the exam is now obligatory.
