U.S. Embassy Moscow Supports Prestigious Conference at Moscow State University
On October 3rd, the English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow supported the 9th International LATEUM (Linguistic Association of Teachers of English at the University of Moscow) Conference, "Language Speech Communication Culture." Both the English Language Officer and English Language Specialist Patricia Dunkel gave plenaries to the 80 plus participants from schools and universities in Moscow and the region, including special guests from Ukraine and the Far East. Dr. Dunkel addressed innovations in the field of testing, with an emphasis on assessing listening. ELO Fay gave a presentation entitled, "Chads, Soccer Moms and Swing States: A Glimpse of US Culture through 'electionspeak'".
