U.S. and Russia Continue Innovation Working Group Collaboration on October 30th in Moscow

The Innovation Working Group of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission will hold its second meeting at the headquarters of Russia’s newest innovation center, Skolkovo, in Moscow on October 30th. Co-chaired by U.S. Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Robert Hormats and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov, the group will address the legal framework for innovation, cooperation on innovation centers and regional innovation clusters, and the development of commercialization chains.

The State Department’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs Lorraine Hariton and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev will lead the day-long meeting, and the co-chairs will join the group for discussions identifying the next steps for U.S.-Russian innovation development and collaboration. Working group members will include innovation experts from the Russian and U.S. private and non-governmental sectors, universities, and governments.
