U.S. Embassy Delegation Travels to Kostroma Region

Deputy Minister Counselor for Political Affairs Howard Solomon led a U.S. Embassy delegation to the Kostroma region February 28 to March 2. 

The delegation met with regional and municipal officials, participated in a roundtable with civil society, visited the Kostroma Oblast Universal Scientific library, and had an interactive session with students and faculty at Kostroma Nekrasov State University.  The delegation toured several economic enterprises, including the Vysokovsky Hot House complex and Gazpromtrubinvest.  The latter is building a new facility that will be outfitted partly with American machinery. 

While in Volgorechensk, the delegation viewed the construction site of National Oilwell Varco, a major American investment in the region that is an example of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the United States and Russia.  Follow the links on this page to find out about the trip in more detail.
