Psychological and Medical Issues in HIV/AIDS Prevention within the Military.

On September 12-13, 2006, a third International Workshop: Psychological and Medical Issues in HIV/AIDS Prevention Within the Military: The Ways of Solution will be held under the leadership of the Chairman of International Military Medicine Committee, Head of Main Military Medical Directorate of the RF Ministry of Defence, Surgeon General of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General Colonel Igor Bykov and with participation of the U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Daniel Russell and Defense Attachй BG Dan Eagle The workshop is organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the US Department of Defense.
The leading experts of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense, Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development, US Center for Disease Control and Prevention and representatives of international non-governmental organizations will participate in this workshop.
The workshop starts on September 12, 2006, 9:00AM and will be held at the Central Military Rest Facility "Podmoskoviye" at at Pavedniki settlement.
The HIV/AIDS program represents an important avenue for U.S./Russia partnership to battle a global problem. The Ministry of Defense plans to expand HIV/AIDS prevention program in the Armed Forces.
