Exhibition of American Designer Karim Rashid at the Tatintsyan Gallery (Sept. 28 - Oct. 31)

Location: Moscow
Date: September 27, 2005

Karim Rashid is a well known contemporary designer, who changed the aesthetics of consumer product design and the nature of consumer culture. Since 1993 he lives in New York, works in the fields of industrial and interior design, fashion, furniture, lighting and art. Currently he is a top selling designer. His constructions, whether furniture or perfume bottles look more like futuristic objects: simple forms, flowing lines, multi-functional, new materials and use of the latest technology. Created objects by Rashid are always colored with optimistic hues: rose, white, silver, orange. In the last 10 years he received about 30 awards for industrial design. More than 70 of his works are located in museums of design and modern art. The conception of Karim Rashid's Moscow exhibit is unique and is specific to Russia. The author creates his own world in the space of the gallery — gentle, friendly and very comfortable where everyone becomes a guest. The project is implemented through the support of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
