Lisa Vershbow Opens Art Exhibit in Nizhniy Novgorod

On February 10 Lisa Vershbow opened an exhibit of her jewelry work entitled "An Encounter with the Russian Avant Garde" at the Arts Museum in Nizhniy Novgorod. Her art combines traditional jewelry-making techniques with a wide range of non-traditional materials. Lisa's bold designs and brightly colored materials are her way of capturing the vibrant energy of life in 21st-century Moscow. She also pays homage to traditional Russian culture in her series of Russian tea-glass holders (podstakanniki), that offer a whimsical interpretation of a classic form. In Russia, her work has been displayed at exhibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg and Kaliningrad. [Press Release]
