New York's Harlem Gospel Choir Performed at the Great Hall of the Conservatory on November 16

The renown choir from New York is one of the world's major Gospel (Spirituals) performers. Coming from the New York heart of Harlem, the choir travels extensively throughout the world representing Afro-American culture and bringing to audiences joyful and uplifting music, which has influenced and continues to influence jazz, blues and other contemporary styles. Founded in 1986, The Harlem Gospel Choir performs in sacred and secular halls. The clear vocals of the singers are equally harmonious for academic, pop and rock stages. In addition to religious hymns, the choir performs jazz, blues and contemporary pop classics. The group's repertoire contains many compositions, which in its time famous 20th century singers performed. The concert of the choir in Moscow was part of its premier tour of Russia.
