Message from the Consul General
At the American Embassy’s Consular section in Moscow we have no more important responsibility than the welfare of American citizens in Russia. Whether you are just visiting for a few days or living and working here as a long term resident, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.
We can notarize documents for use in the United States, issue new and replacement passports, help you to register to vote in American elections and direct you to local providers if you need legal or medical assistance.
Life in Russia is different in many ways from the United States, and we understand the challenges Americans face here. If you encounter problems while in Russia we suggest that you turn first to your sponsor, who you listed on your Russian visa application. If your sponsor is not able to resolve your problem, contact us.
The links on this page will lead you to detailed information on all the services we provide. In addition, our consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok provide the same services if you live in those areas. For more information on our consulates, follow the links to their websites.
If you do need to come to us for any reason I assure you that we will provide you with fast, professional and courteous service. If you feel we did not meet these standards, please let me know, at the following e-mail address: MoscowWarden@state.gov. I will look into the matter and get back to you.
I wish you a safe, enjoyable and problem-free time in Russia.
Sincerely,
Richard C. Beer
Consul General
