Asylum

The United States does not grant asylum in its diplomatic premises abroad. Under U.S. law, the United States grants asylum only to aliens who are already in the United States or are seeking entry into the United States at a port of entry. For more information about asylum, click here.

Once an individual obtains asylum in the United States, the individual can invite his or her spouse and any unmarried children under the age of 21 to the United States by filing Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition. For information about services that USCIS Moscow provides to these family members, click here.
